Biography
Tamalyn Dallal began her Oriental dance career in 1976 and has now worked in the field for approximately five decades. Her career has combined professional performance, teaching, choreography, travel, writing and documentary filmmaking. She has danced and researched in dozens of countries rather than building her knowledge solely through the Western studio system. Dallal was also involved in the influential Mid Eastern Dance Exchange in Miami, where future international artists trained. Her work is distinguished by a sustained interest in the people, cultures and communities surrounding the dances she teaches.
